Program Description
In this experiential workshop, participants will learn the essentials of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and how to apply the cognitive model to disordered eating. The workshop will highlight evidence-based strategies aimed at facilitating change in client’s thinking and behavior. An overview of the childhood and adolescent obesity epidemic, and strategies for prevention and intervention will also be addressed.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the cognitive model.
- Apply the cognitive model to disordered eating.
- Identify key cognitions and beliefs that maintain disordered eating.
- Increase knowledge of childhood obesity and prevention.
FEE: Members – Free ($75 yearly membership payable to DCASP), Guests – $25 payable at meeting.
